今日から読み始めました。著者はUCバークレイの物理学者。同シリーズは邦訳も出ていますし、テーマ的にもすぐに訳本が出されそうですが･･･

今日はPrefaceまでしか読んでいませんが、そこに議論のまとめのようなものがあり、そのなかに

とありました。実際には、著者もその前に

When you put politics temporarily aside and look at energy in an objective way, you reach conclusions that are often counterintuitive and unexpected.

と言ってるように、日本だったら御用批判のようなものが浴びせられるでしょうし、アメリカにしろロビー批判が熱くなっているようなので、Presidentの役割もいろいろとあるのでしょうが、この本で扱われているのは、objective wayの議論のようです。

まとめの他のものを見ると、shale oilやnatural gasが将来的に有力と見ているようです。

ハードカバーで368ページ、audibleで9時間29分。9万語くらいでしょうか。kindleでは3846KBと重そうです。
